Lovely trip to Street Somerset and back to meet up with an old friend I haven't seen for three years now due to family commitments and Covid, a well needed leg stretch for cars and drivers. He wanted to show me an old Landie he's just bought, very nice with a few bits and bobs to do on it mostly territorial marking related.

He had a Herald prior to this that he inherited from his dad but it had to go as he is a youngish working family man and just hasn't got the time to do a total rebuild.

A good run out and a full tank used up not difficult, all in all a good day with good company and lunch, the weather was perfect being mostly overcast but dry.
I didn't want to stop driving when I got home the sound track and comfort is very addictive.

Cooling down...

I'll put that right next time Graham. It's a light green S3 I think.

Yes John, I'd got out of the habit of the longer trips, at least I didn't need a passport unlike Kernow grin2

Lovely 'clean' front end. I know what you mean about keeping going and it will be great to have somewhere to go. A mate has just bought a Healy 3000 so I'm thinking a visit down to him in the New forest is due.

Don't look too closely it's a bit of a bugfest.. this was halfway house, well an ad hoc comfort break on the way up grin2
That sounds like a nice trip coming up there, there is something about those big Healeys alright.

Ah clean as in sans badges and spotlights maybe you meant doh

Yes exactly that, tempting as it is to clutter up the front end, I like the minimal look with full bumpers. That said I like spotlights with neither bumpers or overriders so no real consistency on my part.

Yes I can see that, my first Plus 8 came with spots fitted and although they weren't those monster Cibies they still seemed to clutter up the front and detract from the purity of the lines.
I have always found the standard headlights provide plenty enough light output for my requirements.

I like those newer smaller body mounted spots on the clean fronted cars, somehow it seems right again, not much logic but it just seems to appeal.

Excellent run out to Prescott this morning for the Footman James ‘Coffee & Chrome event. A good selection of interesting cars with a few bikes and free bacon rolls, so what’s not to like!
Bumped in to Neil L, formerly of this parish, pleased to report that he is now well, in remission after some health problems, and now enjoying life with a Lotus.
Thanks also to Graham, doing his usual excellent work in keeping everyone organised.

Lovely run out to Buckfast Abbey for a Cream Tea and stroll around the grounds.

Nice old white V8 Rover there and on the journey a red MGB chrome with roof up, blue Spitfire a second world war ambulance and a vile green but immaculate XK120, all waved and enjoying the good weather after yesterdays wash out I expect.
Quite a high number of special cars around for a 60 mile trip.

I got a that car is mega as I drove up Totnes high street from a couple of young dads out with the pushchairs.
