Hi
Saw this on a car auction site
https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/sat-28th-29th-august/1984-morgan-44-1600/
Thought somebody would like a winter project.
Regards
Andrew

That will be a long winter then. But others have rebuilt far worse

IF the chassis is good , it would be not too bad a job , BUT it is impossible to ascertain that from these photos.

It would be a gamble buying it without a through inspection , but I'd agree that some here have rebuilt far worse.

How do they get in that state ?
I admire (I think) anyone who would be brave enough to tackle this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124841721176?hash=item1d11257d58:g:4hMAAOSwOjJhDYig
What's the ballpark figure for such a restoration (many pieces of string come to mind), and what would it be worth afterwards ?

Asking price seems a little high for this even more extreme project as posted above. Click image for more detail.

The cost of restoration is dependent upon who is doing the work. If you put it to a dealer/restorer then you you never going to break even , let alone show a profit. If you just want a workmanlike finish, rather than show condition then it can be done more cheaply but I imagine that even with this in mind it will still be around £10k of parts alone (esp as MMC parts are increasing at an almost exponential rate for many items), plus a full respray (say £5k) and possible re-trim (say 3.5k) and that assumes that the engine.box/axle are all OK. The body tub looks good , it is possible this was purchased from MMC already which is a good start.

You might expect £20k at the end of it. possibly a little more as it is a 4 seater?

Thanks, and there I was thinking that some Isopon and Solvol Autosol would sort it....
I would hasten to add that I'm NOT planning on doing a restoration. My excuse is (a) I don't have the skills, (b) I'm perfectly happy with my Roadster, and (c) SWMBA reminded me this morning that the renovation of our kitchen is 5 years overdue.

Just remind your good lady that the waiting list for Mogs used to be around 8 years, so she's still not reached the top of the list yet innocent

If someone wants to tackle such a project - maybe my Blog entry might be helpful. This does not include some more items I got this year and I still need to finish the interior.

My opinion: C6510 will be even more work than my Morgan. I would not pay more than 5000GBP for it.
The other one on EBay is off the charts. Some parts will be even harder to get. 3000GBP would be still quite expensive
