I wear one for all longer and motorway journeys. I’m very happy with the Shoei J-Cruise II helmet I use. It has a flippable full face visor and also an internal sun visor that you can slide up or down using a button on the side of the helmet. Sena make an intercom especially for this helmet, that is fully built in, and it’s excellent.

I use the HJC equivalent of the Shoei since it is lighter and less money, but I am sure it is not as good a helmet as the J-Cruise.

If it's cold out, I wear a helmet. In bright, sunny days, I wear a river hat with neck "curtain" for sun protection unless I plan freeway speeds. The front of the hat gets blown up at speed, exposing my dainty visage to the ravages of the sun, so back to the helmet. My helmet is bluetooth equipped but I haven't charged it in years. Somebody might want to phone me in the middle of a ride. Talk about a buzz kill. I use the phone to answer verification calls from doctor appointments. As a 2 time cancer survivor, and surviving many other maladies that can kill you missing an appoint reminder could be fatal.

I usually wear my helmet, open face with visor, I also have a flying helmet and goggles but feel a complete idiot wearing them. 🤪

I wear a cap usually to keep my hair under control. I might wear a helmet on a longer or motorway journey but prefer not to.

Cap and sunglasses going to the place we are going to and when going home leather helmet and googles.........This usually because you do find out that you are deaf and blind upon arrival and then try to be smarter on the way home.......:-)

My wife wears a helmet over a ball cap when we're going distance. Around town nope. I've got a "Snoopy" helmet and goggles that I'll wear every so often.

I wear a flying helmet purporting to be a Mig pilot's one. Good points: It is beautifully made from very high quality materials. They are readily available in summer & winter variants, in all head sizes (via Etsy & eBay etc). It has integral headphones with soft suede ear cups which do offer a certain degree of sound isolation. Relatively inexpensive for the quality. Bad points: The headphones are designed to be powered by a nuclear reactor so will not work with modern electronics. I'm not convinced that it is actually Mig pilot's equipment - more likely something used in tanks or armoured vehicles.
