Hydrogen Fuel Cell EVs are the future, supported by synthetic green gasoline for ICE cars and light aircraft.
Battery EVs are an interim solution, I enjoy the Tesla but I'm not convinced that I'll get another battery car when I change in 4 to 5 years.

I was at a friend's house the other day and he through the Bentley club knows the proprietors of the Warrantywise car warranties and apparently some of their worst claims history and cost of individual claims is Tesla, in their experience any problems with the electrical motor requires complete replacement of the expensive motor.........as Telsa doesn't apparently supply spare components.

While watching some of the LeMans the other day one commentator talked about Hydrogen fuel.
The 2025 race is going to have a couple of H powered cars, Toyota, I think. They have stated they will be competing for overall winners not a class win. He added that JCB are moving to diesel to Hydrogen conversion as EV JCB’s simply won’t be usable. I think he also said Toyota have already entered a H powered car in a couple of endurance races as development tests. Road going modified cars not specials or concept types.
The future looks better! He also commented about two types of Hydrogen. Green Hydrogen from cracked water using green electric power and Brown Hydrogen from chemical based production.
Hydrogen is definitely on the upside behind the scenes.

Unless they find a way to drastically reduce the weight of batteries the compromises in certain applications are a real problem.
JCB say that an equivalent battery pack will add 6 tons to their 20 ton vehicle (it may even have been 8 tons), also the down time for re-charging is an issue, which is why they're developing a hydrogen power plant.
I hope the UK isn't making a rod for its own back by going full tilt into electric vehicles.

Yes the H24 project are going for a Le Mans entry in 2024, worth a look at their website if you are a fellow hydrogen convert.
It was featured on the recent ITV4 program Goodwood FOS Future Lab, always a great exhibition to look around when you attend.
Red Bull should also have an entry for 2024 along with others I suspect.
In 2025 they will be allowed to contest for outright victory, so it will be interesting to watch the progress of these racers and the subsequent translation into road use.

I was just checking a fact in my copy of Morgan First and Last etc by GH Bowden ( 1972) when I discovered this and thought it might be of interest what Peter Morgan's view on electric MMC product could be. "Peter Morgan is also not ignoring the possibility that his firm may one day produce an electric car. As Morgans have never produced their own engine this would, of course, be dependent on having access to someone else's power unit. But if the world was tending towards electric cars and a good motor was available, he would be quite open to the idea of using it while preserving the general appearance of the car. No doubt Morgans would be able to continue their policy of producing cars with a high power-to-weight ratio unit even if they were powered by batteries, for the car would still remain that much lighter than most of it's competitors. However it is difficult to see electric cars becoming at all widespread until the battery as we know it today has been revolutionized..." So in fifty years I am still waiting for the revolutionary battery that will persuade me that Hydrogen is not the future that I'm happy to wait for as the real alternative, meantime I have ensured both our ICE cars provide plenty of smiles along the way and enjoy them to the full 190 bhp from each car is enough for me and the good lady  . Well the Morgan Life Car is no longer in the MMC museum, so perhaps it's being developed further ?

That would be good news, I remember looking around it at the Eden Project many years ago now when they featured cars of the future with the major players being represented, rather interestingly the Musk project was yet to emerge. I thought the Morgan was a beautifully crafted unit with those lovely looking laminated seats, not too sure of the comfort though but they seem to have made it into the early CX models   ..

Hydrogen will be part of the future. Synthetic Petrol will be part of the future. Renewable Electricity will be a major part of the future... And this should be: Rolls Royce are pushing their "Small Modular Reactors" https://www.rolls-royce.com/innovation/small-modular-reactors.aspx#/RR Has been making and developing these for 40 years, they are used in nuclear powered submarines, with great success. They are "sealed for life" and after 30 years he reactor cell can be removed to Sellafield for decommissioning. Fusion Reactors are almost proven, they should be ready in about 30 years....

Fusion Reactors are almost proven, they should be ready in about 30 years....
I would love to be able to agree with this one. … “in about 30 years” has been the mantra of the fusion folks since the late 70’s when I visited Culham.
