Agreed.
Looks like something Morecambe & Wise might have created; all the right pieces, not necessarily in the right order

Must have been nearly 15 years ago I had chance to buy this one - Sydney Allards own car. Unfortunately the circumstances didn't align and I missed out. A year or two later and the prices had shot through the roof.... the same car was re-advertised at 3 times what I could have bought it for !

I've always liked Allards but the only affordable ones these days are the P1 saloons. The looks of the P1 are somewhat "challenging" which is the only reason I can imagine that they're so undervalued - IMHO.

That's why I need some spare cash and a garage - de-bling it and paint it a "proper" colour, its advertised as British Racing Green - I'd call that puke green

Serendipity - A genuine Allard J2X has just appeared for sale on Car&Classic.

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1378149

When the cars were built new Allard weren't allowed to import American engines, due to post-war restrictions, so all UK cars had the side valve Ford (or Mercury) V8 fitted. Cars exported to the USA usually went engineless and were fitted with a big V8 on arrival. Cadillac being the preferred choice.

Naturally many UK cars have since been upgraded as has this Singapore export model.

Knowing how much some of these 'classic' car places charge, probably no more than an oil change and a set of plugs. smile A fool and his cash.......
