I’ve always been a bit lax in my tracking for vehicle maintenance, expenditure and repairs but, I realize, with Morgan cars, this is not an option. I was just curious if there are any formats or log books or spreadsheets that people use

Thanks !

I keep a written diary of all work I do, and a ring binder with all the receipts. I stay flexible on full servicing due to the low mileages covered, apart from regular kingpin greasing.

I have 38 years of invoices for the same +8. Never added them up and don't plan to, ever!

Two ring binders with all receipts for service, and bits and bobs that I bought over the years.
Don`t dare to sum up what 13 years of ownership has cost me.
In addition I have a spread sheet with dates and mileage of services, and one tab where I noted down various spare part numbers.

I too have a ring binder for receipts, another for registration docs, Mots & history.
For maintenance & notes on each of my cars I use A5 hardback note books (I am on volume 6 on the Pembleton!) & an A5 index book for part numbers and cross references, eg. O for Oil filters, T for Timing Belts etc and a A4 sketch pad for drawings where parts have to be made or modified.
Works for me.

I inherited a huge folder of stuff when I bought my car. I read it once and it's sat on a shelf ever since.

Not bothered logging anything I've done or keeping any receipts or stuff. Can't see the point. I do have a couple of Google docs - one covers the Service schedule - I put in the mileage I did a task (oil change, greaseing etc) and then the mileage when I need to do it again. Also things like ignition timing, valve clearances, plug gap info.

The other is a 'To Do' list where I jot down jobs I have planned (including parts required and how much I need to save up!). All gets deleted once complete.

I have a whiteboard in the shed, where I jot random thoughts and a note book where I draw/design/plan stuff for cars and bikes. Gets chucked when full and replaced with a new one.

I have a ring binder with service invoices and things I've purchased.
Service/Insurance/MOT dates Caroline puts in here traditional paper year planner.

I used to be a bit obsessive about keeping workshop stuff because I might want it. I'm now throwing away many boxes including some unopened since we moved here 22 years ago. If I haven't needed something in 20 years then I think it is safe to throw it away. I think the hoarding stems from my early years when we had nothing. Dad was the same and I inherited his collection of straightened nails.....
I have boxes of nuts, bolts and self tapping screws built up by dismantling ole electrical stuff...

I need a skip I think.

Or maybe TWO storage units not far from home, for stuff that exceeds the capacity of the workshop/loft. (No names, and it's not Mr. Trebus, but I'll call him my brother). Worst of all, because they are FULL, when he can't find/reach items he goes out and buys a replacement. I keep telling him he's sad, but I suspect he is not alone.

I still have my Grandad's tool kit in a wooden box. It came with flat pack landing craft from the USA he helped assemble in Totnes ahead of D day.
