i noticed a difference in wheel base on my '89 +4 ( M16 ) but , as far i can see, all seems OK , nothing loose or bend , all in place as should be.
Now i wonder if the centering bolt in the leafs ( 5 leafs here) is indeed in the center between the spring's bolt holes ? And are the bolt holes the same both sides , so that a spring can be mounted wrong ( front/rear) which results that the centering bolt is not in the same position left and right ?

Could also be the front crosshead out of kilter? Guess you will be taking some reference measurements to identifiable points on the chassis to confirm where the problem lies.

thanks Doug for reply .
We see it clear : left rear wheel is more up front then the right one.
I measure almost 10 mm.
At the base plate of the leafs i measure around 5 mm difference... as if that centering bolt ( seems intact , no damage ) is 5 mm more up front compared the right side.

that can explain the difference i have.... the right side leaf spring must be installed ( PO ? factory ?? ) the wrong way.
At least what i suppose, as the right rear wheel is much better in center fender.
PS strange , i searched some topics about installing leaf springs , but never seen mentioned that the locating pin is off center ... so those springs do have a mounting direction. Perhaps it is labeled on new ones ?

I think if it's between 5 and 10 mm difference it's not that a spring has been fitted wrong. If you have a look at the photo below there is far more than 10mm difference. Personally I don't think it would be possible to successfully mount the axle if one spring was reversed? The top spring is the newer 4 leaf rear. TBM , i can be that the difference with older versions is greater , indeed perhaps to get the wheels better centered in the arch at some year in the past .
That is a '72 , mine a '89.
Now if those more recent springs only differ due 5 ? mm offset of the locating pin , i think it is possible to mount them ( one ) wrong ?
PS i also checked the rear spring shackles , no play and both at the same angle ( no length difference )

Possibly - the top springs are a generic 4 leafs that fit 1969 up to (not including) the CX version. However I remember when I fitted them it was very obvious which way they went - there was a significant difference in the distance between pin and eye either side.

as the car is sagging on his springs too i think it's not worth the work involved to change that spring in direction....so i asked price at our Morgan dealer for 2 new springs and option install at the shop. I could do it myself.... but perhaps they have the "routine/special tools " and can do it for a fair price.

as the car is sagging on his springs too i think it's not worth the work involved to change that spring in direction....so i asked price at our Morgan dealer for 2 new springs and option install at the shop. I could do it myself.... but perhaps they have the "routine/special tools " and can do it for a fair price.
It is a fairly straight forward job, and easily done by a competant home mechanic. Does takes a failry long time, which may influence the price from the Morgn dealer. Parts cost me about £350 for the springs, about £60 for new U bolts, and £30 for new bolts and spacers.
