You imagine wrong smile

My Mrs has a Hyundai. She'd love a sports car or something a bit more fun, but she needed something that had excellent mpg (80mile a day commute to work), very reliable, four seats, and enough room to transport our two giant rabbits to the vets/ pet sitters, and to do garden centre runs/trips to the recycling centre for her gardening habits.. Oh and she only had £4k to spend.

Hyundai i30 diesel fitted the bill perfectly. She hankers after a Mk3 Spitfire, but on her salary (and a seflish partner who has taken up the spare parking space with his Morgan) it is rather unlikely.....

Apologies to the good lady, she has guessed you would be like a badger with a sore harris without your Morgan and has deferred her Spitfire, she spoils you. Can't you fit rabbits in the Corsa or Morgan then grin2

The Corsa would do it - but the 70+mpg and sub £10 a month VED is the main reason for the Hyundai. It's also done about 200,000 miles, and han't broken down once in the five years she's owned it.

I thought my Fiesta tractor was doing well at 60mpg and £30 VED but that is low cost motoring.

It seems we've taken a step closer to road charging according to the news.

It would be nice to think that VED would be abolished but somehow I think we may get both.

It's quite perky too - 1.6 Turbo diesel. Faster than the Corsa and the Mog!
