Thanks for all the replies; what i didn't say was that the AM used to work perfectly and suddenly gave up the ghost so if I wish to listen to Smooth radio ill have to purchase a new Radio; maybe not.

To me it sounds like either of two reasons: 1) Smooth stopped broadcasting on AM, or 2) your radio has given up Either way it appears the option is a new radio that works on FM / DAB or will allow a streaming device to play via the internet. I guess if you have an AUX input on your existing radio you could get one of those little boxes from eBay/Amazon which plugs in to the AUX input and then allows bluetooth connection to your phone for internet radio. They usual cost no more then £10-£15.
