Folks In your opinion, for those that have had it done, is the sports exhaust and re- map worth the expense ? What will I gain ? Is it worth the expense ? I did speak to Keith at BHM about it a couple of years ago but forgot what we said. lol I have a Duratec engined plus 4 Ta all

I only had the remap. Whatever gain there is, is at 4000 rpm and above. Fuel consumption remained at around the 41mpg mark. For every day driving though, I don’t think I would miss it. A friend had the remap and the sports exhaust. It was a little louder but again for NORMAL driving, personally I didn’t notice a lot of difference. He has now taken it a stage further with throttle bodies but is finding that the combined noise of induction and exhaust is getting to be uncomfortable on longer journeys.

Williams did the ECU and sports exhaust on my 2011 Plus 4 - GDI engine. The exhaust sounded great as the revs increased, but slightly muffled lower down, compared to the original. The remap brought the power band lower down the rev range - it used to come to life well over 3000rpm as far as I remember, and generally became even more fun to drive!

Well documented on here of the (almost essential) benefits of remapping and exhaust mods for the GDI. However, re: Jon’s post above...I didn’t think that the GDI was used by Morgan until 2014, or maybe a few in the latter part of 2013?

I’m also interested in this as a possible upgrade in performance. I vaguely remember a previous thread suggesting the manifold and remap was more cost effective for normal road use than fitting individual throttle bodies for example. There seems to me to be a point when a Plus 4 owner may be better served by a Roadster and a Roadster owner better served by a Plus 8 and so on, all very sensible but doesn’t stop me wanting ‘just a little more’ fro my Duratec.

Cain did the re-map on my Duratec + 4 also fitted a K&N cone filter, exhaust is standard. It made a world of difference to acceleration and doesn't seem to affect fuel consumption.

Stupid question time........... How do you know if your car is fitted with a sports exhaust or a standard exhaust?
