To resurrect this thread - the Accuspark kit lasted 5 months. Now in the bin, and back to points.

Looking forward, I realise I've got to spend some wedge to get a decent system. Although a Megajolt system looks good, it's a bit beyond my capabilities! I won't something fairly simple to maintain and tune.

If I'm going to do it 'properly' will probably replace the Dizzy for a new one (comes with the Aldon/123 kit), as after 48 years there will be some obvious wear and tear.

Option 1 - Lumenition System (about £400 including Dizzy)
Option 2 - Aldon Ignitor II (about £350)
Option 3 - 123 Distributor (£399)

Any thoughts? Other options?

Have you tried a H&H kit, about 75 quid?

Used them in various competition Crossflow and Pinto engines with no issues what so ever

They will even do you a distributor for about 250 quid

I have a tuned Xflow engine and run Lumenition with an Aldon "fast road" Lucas distributor, it;s been literally fit 'n forget for the last 20+ years.

I hope I haven't just jinxed it? smile

Difficult to get to the phone at work (I'm currently in a Year 12 lesson while they're researching the Spartacist Uprising) so usually have to rely on email stuff.....

Aldon Amethyst mappable system. Had one on my MGB but really needs a rolling road to set it up. 123 do the 123tune but is similar as user mappable. Would probably go for the 123switch with 16 advance curves if I was to do again. Not sure how easy it is to switch between curves.

thanks for all the feedback - leaning towards a 123 at the moment - the latest model is tunable via a bluetooth app (and even has a locking option via a PIN)
