Lovely evening run out to Ashburton for a quick pint and catch up with an old friend, driving back in the most spectacular sunset just perfect and autumn arrives tomorrow and the good weather is here to stay for a few days yet, so get out there and enjoy it while it lasts

Just got home from our trip to the Isle of Man Festival of Motoring. The weekend event included a closed road run up the Sloc hill climb, a display of cars in Douglas, a parade on the TT course from Douglas to Ramsay and a closed road run up the Mountain part of the TT course. All very well organised. We added a day on at each end so that we could go exploring. We have been very fortunate with the weather too. There were 260 cars attending including 60 (ish) Morgans. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2021/09/21/B569EE0C-0F88-4EA5-9A5E-1B5ED654C76D.jpg) Picture Credit - Dave Kneen

A run down to West Sussex enjoying the fine weather. Towards the end I was disappointed that I had seen no 'interesting' cars and the only fun car spotted was an MX5, but then in the opposite direction there came an E-Type also driving top down, giving an opportunity for waving by both crews. At our lunch stop a gentlemsn asked if we were aware of the E5 / E10 petrol change as he knew a few classic car owners who had problens with it, perhaps not noticing my 2018 registration.

A great run out mostly in warm sunshine to Buckfast, then on to the Tavistock Inn on Dartmoor near Poundsgate for a good lunch. Back via Haytor Vale and Bovey Tracey. The mist, then haar, then light rain came in at the highest point - for some strange reason the navigator complained that we had to stop for the photo shoot at this stage - something about getting wet while stationary and needing to get going again so the rain wouldn't come in - very strange! ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/09/23/5784A2E4-7C84-41F8-AC61-6365CB931CEC.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/09/23/352112D3-4A43-4078-BF40-D207EFA8355B.jpg) Sun came out again as we dropped down towards Bovey Tracey.

Lovely. I think I first climbed Haytor aged about 4. The jump between the two bits I remember as huge. I just went to the beach for a walk in perfect sunshine. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/09/23/20210923_105414.jpg)

It is the pier at Languard Point. Part of the Victorian defences for the Orwell river where it meets the sea. I think it was used to transport mines out into the estuary. The GuardiansThe worn old wooden and stone structure makes it very photogenic.

Short but scenic drive to the Fossilmog Breakfast, this morning. Held at Otterton Mill, East Devon, with a dozen Morgans present. Great food, great company and a nice location.
