Good morning Morgan friends,

yesterday i went to the Morgan importer close to St.Gallen (Switzerland). It was perfect nice weather, no other customers arround but sadly only one car left (he is close to sold out...).
I got the chance to drive the Plus Four with automatic gear box and sports exhaust. As written in other posts, it has a nice sound, especially in sport + mode.
Driving the Plus Four direct after the 4/4 was a little strange. I expected a harder steering, rattle and bumpy driving. But none of that happened

Now my questions.
- is the sport mode in the manual shifted cars available too? The plops (hooligan mode) was only in the sport + mode
- does someone has the audio system in the car? In my 4/4 i have removed the radio, not necessary... Does it make sense (except if you want to sell the car again)?

The Plus Four would be a perfect addition to my "old" 2009 4/4, but even with a not too exclusive configuration it is hell expensive.
I need to see if i can convince the economic part in the household that this is a must have

Is that AF Cars, the Aston dealership ? Are they sold-out as in closing-down, or just nothing in stock ?

Just curious, as when I lived in Switzerland in the 1970's/80's, I did a personal import (a TVR) and had the "Typenprüfung" for that car done via Heinz Kobel (probably long-since closed).

nope, it is the Wiesenthal Garage in Mörschwil, close to St.Gallen. It is a small garage selling Ford and Morgan.
Owner is a relly nice guy and got some good advice with the configuration.

There is a button to engage Sport+ in the manual cars.

And it then makes those lovely noises.

I have the auto version so unable to comment re the manual version. I also don’t have the sports exhaust but would say that I (or at least the car, I wouldn’t dare comment on personal issues) have pops in both Sport and Sport + mode.
I only have the speakers fitted ( and only hear the rear ones by the back shelf) and my iPhone connects via Bluetooth so I can hear playlists/satnav as required. I think it’s worth it personally although in hindsight I would get something done about the lack of volume out the front/door speakers

Means manual gearbox would be ok and soundsystem too. With bluetooth i can
use it for navigation.

Now i have to clarify only the last point, convince Mrs.finance minister. unfortunately you can‘t help here ;-)

The auto box is amazing I found the manual a lot slower. I would hope you can test drive both.

Good afternoon Andreas and everybody,
I collected my Plus Four auto from Krazy Horse on Friday 3rd September and went away for the weekend and the car was just great. Returned home Sunday and then went up to the Lakes on Wednesday 8th September returning home two days ago. The car now has 978 miles on the clock and s booked in for its first service at KH on October 7th. Had the men sahib with me most of the time and have still only driven in Drive, Sport and "Manual". The performance is superb and the power delivery is so much smoother than my 3.7 Roadster which has the Aero Racing ECU. I found a dead straight empty road and buried my foot in the carpet just in Drive. I ran out of road in no tine at all at 115/120mph. It just kept accelerating with no hesitation. I kept topping the tank up so as to be able to check MPG. This was prior to the so called petrol shortage which is actually down to idiots filling up unnecessarily. Fooling about on wonderful Lakeland roads it does about 30mpg. By comparison on an 80 mile run at a a level 70mph it returned 50mpg. This bears up what a man at Morgan told me which was that he was averaging 45mpg in his Plus Four.
To answer specific points:
The standard exhaust pops and burbles in Sport.
The audio is brilliant. Connects immediately via Bluetooth and the volume is amazing. Can hear perfectly well top down at 70mph and my door speakers could probably blow the doors off.
On a personal note I would go for the Auto every time.

John - what have you done so as to get volume from thee door speakers? I got the factory boys to look at mine and the could only get a “whisper” out of them by removing the padding which was in front of the speakers! It remains that the only volume heard is from the rear ones— most frustrating!! I would love to hear what you or your dealer did to get you real volume from the door ones!!
