As another unintended consequence of recent changes in this respect. The Autofill boxes offered by just about everything associated with International Travel have now become more complex. Tapping in UK will not excite most of them and neither will GB. Great Britain no longer brings up the correct option in some - so try 'United' and that will bring up a few - others require us to type 'United Kingdom' in full and brings up 'United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' apparently the favoured title of the current Tory administration.

Is not 'United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" the correct full title since the partition of Ireland? I guess that problems with the DUP is the reason for making the change. But then you see UK used on all sorts of lists on the internet.

Bit like treating Scotland , England and Wales as "countries" - our set up here in the UK is a complete bodge only made worse by Blair.

That may be seen by the French as incitement to rebellion, a serious crime under French law which can be punished by a prison term of up to 10 years if the perpetrator was armed at the time of the offence. . I don't think they are very happy with us at the moment even though Greece has promised to buy some French frigates to ease the pain.

I'm all for a bit of rebellion but why not just put the UK sticker on when you need it, have a good time then, if it bothers you, peel it off when you get back home.?

I have the chrome GB at the bottom of the nearside wing. When I toured Europe I stuck the official GB sticker higher up on the luggage rack then removed when I got home. I'd do the same with the UK one although not sure on the rules on displaying two different signs?

A few years ago, I found a wonderful 1930s Black/silver metal GB plate at a local antique centre.
Mounted on a bumper bracket, we’ve used this on all our recent visits to France, with no problems.
Not sure what we’ll do on our next trip, but I’m not keen on sticking anything to the rear bodywork of the 4/4.
