All I can say is I must have a bigger tank as well as an accurate gauge. I regularly fill up when the 40 to go light comes on triggered by digital readout on the Roadster. This with around 320 miles covered. I did stretch it to 15 miles to empty once and put in just a tad short of 50 litres. Don't make a habit of this though for reasons Colin mentions.

Richard,

I am not sure but I guess the Roadster and Plus Four (CX type) share very few parts or systems so my comments only relate to the CX platform.

Hi Colin,

Thanks for your input. As you say the odometer is the best fuel gauge in the absence of anything accurate from MMC. My 3.7 Roadster was even worse and said the tank was empty when there was another 100 miles in it.

Best regards,

John

As I drive my auto like 'Miss Daisy', I am getting well over 50 mpg and about 300 miles per tank. A word of warning; the fuel consumption meter overreads by at least 10%. My fuel calculations come from filling to the brim and checking miles done since last fill. I rarely drive over 60 mph. Moreover, in response to CooperMan's comment about range anxiety, I have no worries and, unlike charging an EV, we can fill our fuel tanks in 5 minutes. My chum in his Porsche Taycan takes one hour; assuming he can find a charging point available.
