Agh I am in a bit of a panic as a new neighbour has moved into the garage next door to where I keep my Morgan and the neighbour is a stone mason and guess what... the stone dust has seeped into my garage and is all over the floor and has penetrated the dust cover on my beloved Mog
Luckily the stonemason has promised not to do any more work until he buys some extraction equipment and meanwhile someone is helping me fill lots of gaps with expanding foam and I am getting an industrial vacuum to clean up.
I have done some research about carcoons but they seem to be a bit of a faff as I use my Mog every week and don't want to be put off going out for a quick spin because of the cartoon
Any suggestions out there regarding this?
Cheers

Cheers I imagine there could be baffles and dust guards made up to seal the remaining openings - door etc. if your neighbour is genuine and installs the right gear you may be safe. I tried this as I have a similar problem with airborne dust as my garage door is a poor fit, I have to acknowledge that my efforts have not been fully successful and the Morgan acquires a light dusting in dry weather.

First thing I would try and find out is "Is the garage/house had a change of use planning approval and registered as an industrial place of work and insured and paying appropriate rates accordingly?"
The protections are there in law to prevent this sort of thing.

Have a look at "www.airflow-uk.co.uk" Similar to a Carcoon but it has a rigid frame and you simply drive the car in or out.

This may work, depending on the dimensions of your garage. Folding Garage

Sorry to say but sealing the gaps sounds to be the immediate solution for "your side" of the garage. If he is intent on using the space for his chosen trade, then your neighbour urgently needs to equip his garage with a cyclone (something like this: https://youtu.be/3ni1Pf-wwo0). Especially as stone dust is so much more noxious than wood dust. Cyclones are also used in animal feedstuff production facilities https://www.aairex.com/animal-feed-production-dust-extraction-system/I worked for years in the textile industry and visited mills around the world, some of which were seriously life-threatening on many levels, especially festoons of airborne cotton fibres (known as "fly") hanging from the roof and various ducting. I survived, but I knew a number of industry professionals who succumbed to horrible diseases like byssinosis, don't let it happen to you (even as a "passive" inhaler). I would also get your local Environmental Health involved right away to monitor dust levels (and, I'm guessing, noise). If he complains, tell him that if he's not causing a statutory nuisance, he has nothing to fear.

Agreed he need local dust extraction with a cyclone to capture the dust. But I expect some will still escape. If it continues I would point out he can't run a business from his garage & that the dust is very dangerous to your lungs let alone the Mog.
