Totally agree on the fuel gauge on the Coupe - Alistair any tips on filling the bloody thing? Takes me ages to get barely 20 litres in there. 200 miles is what I have been ding also but I am never totally sure I have filled it!
Mine has been out in a couple of Biblical storms and no water ingress driving i am aware of BUT did come in through the doors onto the inside leather sills when parked in a storm. I probably should get the carpets up to be sure there is no water languishing in there.
On the battery isolation switch I have decided not to touch mine but instead leave a CTEK permanently disconnected. No previous reports of any cutouts on any of the numerous invoices that came with the car (though none of those saved me from a large bill at Morgan recently, mostly suspension related).
Alistair - my Coupe is stored in Newbury just off the A34 so we may be closish neighbours?

I believe there was a thread about the adjustment of the filler quite a long time ago.
From (bad) memory the breather can become twisted/blocked leading to blow back. Where it exits in the fuel filler enclosure it needed to be on the top above the fuel input pipe rings a bell. I will see if I can find/take a photo.
I am about 20 mins south of M4/A34 so not that far. Sadly mine is not out and about at present following this daft period of history. Always happy to help a fellow owner if possible. Mine both live on a CTEK.
Water ingress around the leading edge of the door making the leather damp is also a common feature on the model. I think it comes in along the vertical front edge then drop and pools around the back of the door.
Yes the suspension is a bit of a challenge, the Coupe needs the front looked at right now. The rear ball joints wear and need replacement.
Still won't sell it. The more miles you put on it the less the problems seem material. (that's where I am going wrong)

I find I can best get fuel in if the nozzle is 180 from where you'd naturally place it - so the pump nozzle's metal handle is facing the passenger seat. & yes, the S5 also has a 'proximate fuel indicator, which is as likely to rise as it is to fall. The digital display matches the dial... which I find strangely reassuring Will

S4 based Plus 8 fuel gauge is as good as any other car down to about 30% on the digital display when it moves to a more traditional Morgan position: accurate on level ground and when the car isn't moving. When the fuel level warning light comes on there is 5L left in the tank, but not all may be available to the fuel pump, it depends on the slope the car is sitting on.
I agree with Will, the position of the pump handle is critical.
