This weekend is the Mull rally, tried to book accommodation when we were across in July but fully booked.

Takes me back a bit.used to be a mad rally man....,but im all grown up now.....what I really mean ,i've run out of money.

One of the reasons I gave up doing rally recovery!
Sunday's Rallye day at Prescott made a nice change. Particularly getting a ride up the hill at end of day in a modified A40

Mind you I've been in similar situations (but managed to reverse out). Haven't done any rally recovery for nearly 20 years.

I see he has the full land rover tool kit lying on the grass in readiness.

Half an hour after this picture, I was axle deep on the stone beach and needed towing, Sheidaig yesterday.

Worse than that, I didn’t even get it wet!
The boat needed collecting from Inverness and I had customer in Garve to meet so I thought a quick nip west would be a good idea.
Google maps shows a few slips dotted around the west but there’s no information about how useable they are, this was half way of a falling 6 metre tide, the ramp was already near its end and blocked at the bottom with a huge lump of chain anyway so I tried the beach, I decided against it, it was too slimy and it would be pretty much dead low water by the time I needed out, otherwise a wait untill7pm for ideal conditions. We went a walk instead and left the whole lot there but it rained heavily so when we came back, even those higher stones were slippery, compounded by the fact I forgot to turn off the traction control at first, I was doomed!
Thankfully, I’d already met a local young fisherman with a jeep, probably the only person of any use in the whole place, he was quick to my aid.
I still enjoyed the detour, it was less than an hour from where I had to be anyway and it’s a very pretty road and destination.
Ps. Sorry for the thread drift, the tenuous link was getting stuck and Wild West Scotland, nothing to do with rallying!

I’m cleaning the tub on the driveway this morning, I’ve discovered the mechanic hasn’t left the ignition keys, thank goodness I didn’t launch, it would’ve been a total disaster!
