I'm not into computers at all other than flying one but I do think if you have problems loading images on here it's maybe a good idea to leave the bonnets fastened until you do crack it wink...

If you take the time to read & follow the guide methodically, posting photos via the TM image thingy works fine

I always assumed direct posing was blocked to protect the site for potential malicious attacks, if so that's fine

Never get any ads at all, so assume it's because I've got privacy settings set quite high and block non-essential cookies on the browser

Blame the smartphone revolution. Dealing with BBcodes is very 1990s, and most folk expect a WhatsApp or Facebook or Instagram type experience.

Meanwhile congrats to Malcolm and hope he is enjoying the M3W in the unseasonably nice October weather!

Most forums..."? Could you name a couple, I'd like to see how they do it.

I regularly partake in a dozen or so forums and am a member of many more. I can't think of any at all that allow direct uploading of images.

A few that spring to mind are https://www.pistonheads.com/, https://www.reddit.com/ and https://www.emtbforums.com/

I'm pretty sure that with all of these you can just drag and drop an image or easy upload both from a PC or a Phone.

The fact that having to grease one's front suspension on a car for which there is no workshop manual is the 'epic fail' in this day and age. Most cars just let you drive them and automatically connect to your phone. Faffing around with grease guns is just a massive PITA.

Seems to me that TalkMorgan is exactly the right sort of site for us to be using. smile

The image server BTW currently has 533 users and hosts 26,484 images, so it can't be that hard to use.

Just because the car has its roots in the 1950s doesn't mean the forum has too. You may all be tapping away on your IBM mainframes but for those of us more inclined to use a smart phone the off site hosting is even more inconvenient. It's great that so many have persevered to upload images to the server. I think even I managed it at one point however this doesn't make it a good solution and my guess is that there would be a lot more great photos posted and a lot fewer conversations about how to post images if it was just a bit more intuitive.

Whilst all the suggestions about different ways to upload pictures are interesting; please remember this amazing site is run by Simon himself at no cost to the members.

I'm sure we all agree that it's the most valuable resource for helping new and existing owners to enjoy their Morgan's to the full and spending a few minutes to understand the process of uploading images is not a bad trade off.

His site, his rules however I assume constructive criticism is welcome. The fact that Malcolm still hasn't managed to post a pic and this thread has been completely derailed sort of demonstrates my point.

Simon is a great listener as you might imagine and extremely tolerant !

Just a little history about placing images in posts on here, a while back we were all held to ransom by botophucket so Simon took the decision to set up our own secure TM image hosting site.

This was bravely taken on by Gambalunga and Hamwich as they possessed the necessary skills to undertake the job and as with the TM site itself the regulars chipped in to get it off the ground and pay for the regular maintenance required, almost all of us are very happy with this arrangement.

Posting images with botophucket really was a little bit of a challenge and inundated with not too pleasant adverts... To be perfectly frank if the present instructions are read carefully and adhered to I really can't see the problem with the present system, so why fix something that isn't broken.

p.s. Malcolm is still in his first week of ownership and good weather so I imagine he will save picture posting for a rainy day smile
