Hi got Morgan 3 today am very used to using ctek kit on my bikes but i am unsure whether the ctek should be set to bike or car as there is no battery size info in the morgan handbook.
Have set to bike but should it be car ?
thank you

If your M3W has the original Banner battery then set it to car. If the battery has been changed then you need to determine what it is as AGM battery's have a different setting depending on your model of Ctek.

Due to the size of battery in the M3W I have always set the CTEK to motorbike setting, in 8 years never had an issue. I have the fused connector wired directly to the battery with the connection easily accessible in the cockpit, I never connect through the plug socket, etc.

It's a multi-stage charger of modest max current rating so car setting will be fine and best. The battery decides what current it draws, the Ctek just controls voltage.

Ah, I'm glad you said that as I have alawys assumed that the device was clever enough it do exactly as you say. I will add that, in 15 years of using the Ctek I have always used the 12v socket for charging and, fingers crossed, I have never had any problems.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

Like RichardV6 and lowebird, I have used Cteks on my various cars, including my M3W for many years without any problems. I leave it to the Cteks on car setting, through the 12v socket. They have worked very well indeed for me.
