Help! advice? trying to replace this torx bolt on the sprocket pinion (see arrow). It's absolutely frozen. We broke 5 torx bits on it. We tried heat, impact driver....Does penetrating fluid work on these? We're running out of options. If I remember correctly, it's a Torx Plus bolt rather than a normal Torx so needs the specific Torx Plus bit to get proper purchase on it.

You need to use a Torx Plus 45 bit, as stated in the S&S Engine Manual page 3-47 (freely available on this link. https://www.mtwc.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/SandS-X-Wedge-1.pdf) The replacement crank pinion bolt should be a new 12 point head bolt and is part of the cam chest modification kit, more info on this available on the MTWC website as well......but you probably know that Craig 😉. If the TP45 bit doesn't work or the head is damaged I have heard of welding a nut to the end and using that while still hot to remove it.

no, I didn't know. We went at that for some time. We doused it in penetrating catalyst. Afriad that will not help because there's no way for that to work in down that long bolt. And we'll perform burnt offerings tonight and go at it again tomorrow.

Actually welding a nut is what we're thinking. Anyone with history of doing this, I am all ears. (And there's NO WAY that was torqued to a mere 35 lbs)

Getting the bolt hot will expand it in the threads and lock it tighter, but welding a nut to it and waiting until it is cold and heat the sprocket might work.

Zero experience of this engine, but craig from mich, could be right, looks to me like there is an "L" cast into the case alongside the pinion...?

I'm stuck a long way away from my M3W at the moment, or any of the documentation and parts that I have for it but I'm pretty damn certain that it is a conventional right hand thread and that the apparent L beside the pinion is just two sides of a shallow square recess in the casting.
The couple of times that I undid the Torx Plus bolt before converting to the later style I found that it took all that my impact wrench would give to undo it and that was with the correct bit.
