Yes it always makes me smile as it's the first thing your eye is drawn to and just makes you realise how lucky we are to have hand built cars thumbs

When I bought my Roadster I was intrugued why mine had the neat valance incorporating rear fog and reverse light in moulded mounts and others had the less desirable (for me) standalone rectangular, bracket mounted equivalents. Later realised it was dependant on rear bumper being optioned. Thankfuly I had ordered overriders.

I have seen a 4/4 where the a wider valance had been fitted, to incorporate the neat, circular reversing and fog lights.
It did look very neat.

My 4/4 has the square separate lights. I used to take them off, between MoTs, to give a cleaner look.
However, having reversed into a low and unseen bollard one night. I refitted them.
Fortunately, having full bumpers, the damage was restricted to a slightly bent bumper bracket,

I wasn't very happy with the original large quadratic reverse and fog lights. To big, to low, to much “light stuff”. Trying to get more smooth and decent look, I installed standard position lamps (as used e.g. on lorries), mounted direct on bumper using the same mounting holes and connection cables. Fitted with strong 5W LEDs.

I would prefer to adapt the reflectors below the direction lamps. Unfortunately, there is no space behind the reflectors.

That is really neat.
Can you let me know who supplied them?
Many thanks

Thats a neat solution Peter, and by the looks less radius space on the ends of the number plate valance, so not a straightforward option.. When I get to a rebuild/refurb, I'll look at getting a wider spec valance as described. For now, I'd still suffer from bracket bend and mis alignment with under slung bumper affairs., so this solution works for me. Of course, if I take a European trip I'd have to put one on our nearside(left) to comply with road regs on the left.

Bud, I got them new on the local flea market for few cents. But they are more or less standard, I am sure you will find them (or similar) on ebay. I just took care they were not larger than the reflectors below the direction lights, to ensure a decent look.

Oh yes, and take care they are for soffite bulbs. To ensure a brightness comparable to 21W you will need 5W soffite. The lamps are limited for 5W standard bulbs. If you use e.g. 10W and more, the small housing will melt, as 10W generate too much heat. Hence, LED only.

Permit me a watchpoint concerning LEDs. If it is a red light you want, get a red LED. The LEDs give much stronger than an ordinary incandescent bulb. So if you put a white LED behind a red lens - being a rear driving light, stop light or fog light, the whole thing will turn out bright pink. There are simple red LEDs on the market, which I have put in the fog and cobra stop light, and there are combined / double intensity LEDs, suitable for the driving/stop light combo.
