Good to know Robbie, thanks! I didn't think much about it. Indeed, in the fog lamp, I put a white led soffite LED cluster. And it is not pink, just a very intensive red shine, as it should be for a fog lamp.

Modern new built cars have a nacel under the number plate that holds a similair lamp, for some reason Morgan choose not to mount on the number plate plinth/bracket back plate?

Peterd, I think what saves you is that the lamp itself is much larger than the actual light source. So most of the lens area are at a distance from the bulb, not lightened with full intensity and appearing red as it should. From your photo, if you look directly at the light source behind the lens, it appears - permit me to say so - pink. Not a problem in your case, but could be if you fit a white LED in a rear driving/stop light. I do not know if the thread starter has done exactly that, but from his photos it looks like it, although I could be mistaken. At least, that it how it can appear with a bright white LED behind a red lens.

More rear light fun.... I’ve also just binned the big square plastic thingies for something a little more sturdy.

Frustration got the better of me. However much I tightened the securing bolts onto the original plastic bodies they just seem to twist on their own and always looked crooked. It’s not that I’m OCD or anything. Anyway I stumbled on these little stainless and glass Mini jobbies here that are almost a direct replacement with a better fixing arrangement.

Now I’m actually warming to the retro 'bolt on lamp' look woohoo

Very nice Roger, I prefer the number plate mounted below the bumper too (unlike the later models)

I managed to find small bright circular lights which just squeezed onto the triangular bit outboard of the number plate light on a previous Mog

Thanks Jon. Yes I did move the number plate down a while ago and have passed a couple of MOT’s with no problem since. I did look for small round lights but couldn’t find any but quite happy with these smaller dangling units for now.

If anybody does choose to drop the number plate beware that the plastic plinth is sprung hard up against the bumper and traps the muck/grit. Be prepared for some serious stainless polishing to restore the bumper.

It all depends on how deep the scratches are and how much metal has to be removed! It’s a process starting with the most abrasive medium working in progressive steps to the least abrasive and finishing with polishing compounds. To get those scratches/marks out I used 600 and 3000 grit paper (I prefer to it use wet) and finished with a cloth mop in a battery drill with a couple of different grades of stainless polishing compound. Is not that difficult but takes time. But for general ‘smartening up’ the mop with some compound is a good start.

Very helpful, thanks.
And I'll get some of those bars.
