I’m in need of some touch in paint for stone chip repair. I’ve tried a couple of suppliers on the internet but both say they cannot identify the paint code.

Details are as follows: Claret red metallic, code M020 (2013 Plus 4).

In the past Chipex have supplied a kit that includes a very small amount of the correct paint. However, I don’t need the kit and would like a bit more volume of paint.

Any recommendations as to a supplier that may be able to help?

Thanks
Bob.

Check out this post Bob. They appear to have your paint available and can supply phial, small bottle or aerosol.

I had the same problem, the paint code on the engine plate was not recognised anywhere but luckily Williams had another paint code they used to inform the factory of our colour but I still struggled with that but I have a neighbour that works in an automotive paint shop so gave both codes to him and he managed to get some made up but not from the paint code on the engine plate that didn’t come up on there system.

I had a similar problem and spoke to the guys in the Morgan paint shop who looked their code up on the computer and gave me the original paint colour code.

Hi Bob.
I strongly suggest you find a local paint supplier who has a paint spectrophotometer and can mix the paint from the analysis of your colour. Your paint will certainly have faded over the years so I doubt an original paint code mix will match.
Cheers, John.

I was wondering about fading John as red paint seams to suffer from this quite badly. The Touch Up Paint Factory recognises the code so I’ll try them first. if this fails I’ll go for analysis as you suggest.
Thanks, Bob.
