Just a few days to her third birthday my MOG has a „nice“ present for me.

Loosing the clutch pressure. Not very funny, but we all (also my wife as a passenger) arrive home well.

A short call to my dealer: sounds like the main clutch cylinder. No problem, on the shelf. In Britain - I‘m in Germany.
After a very bad expierence with the German custom I look for a matching part from FORD? MAZDA? ROVER?

Has anyone an idea which master cylinder is used in the 2018 Plus4? Also ideas for repairkits are welcome!

Greets René

A try with a 2005 Mazda MX5 (the 150PS, only a few month, than changing part.-no) wasn‘t successful.

Sorry to read this Rene, I don't know the answer but Keith at BHM will, I think he is still around if not someone there will be able to help you I'm sure with good advice.
Good luck.

Hello Richard,

in cause I travel Britain to buy my MOG from Sarah and Keith and also do some miles for the service there, I asked him this morning.
The first time in my MORGAN live he couldn‘t help. But if there isn‘t another way, a mastercylinder is at the shelf.

Rene, if I understand correctly they have a master cylinder on the shelf at BHM to ship out to you. If so I would grab it while you can, one of our other members had a really hard job locating one for his Roadster a couple of months ago and BHM were the only people with one in stock at the time.

After Brexit I sent some bits to Germany (a TM member) and there was only a short hold up whilst they paid a little extra duty but no big deal.

My ECU was in Britain for a flash.

I paid only 200,- EUR tax for my own ECU back. Plus the usual money for the service. The procedere needs seven or eight weeks.
So no idea for a test of high quality service of DHL.

Just in the Moment the mastercylinder is out of the car, tomorrow I‘ll dismantle it and look for a rebuildkit.

I understand your reluctance now Rene, that's shocking .....

Good luck with finding an alternative..once you have some measurements you will be halfway there.

After hofw many kilometers did it fail?

The clutch master cilynder on my 2019 Plus4 failed after 11'000 km. Was replaced under warranty. Maybe I will buy a spare one. Wonder if you find an alternative. Good luck, Werner.

Rene, I'm afraid you will not find a matching alternative, it is a Morgan specific part & seal kits are not available (if the bore is scored the new seals won't last long anyway)

Oh… I‘m on the lucky side. It works three years (nearly) and 25000 Kilometers. Just some days after the warranty runs out.

A lot of hours asking peoples with knowledge the result: fit the factory thing.

I think that‘s the way. But a rebuild on the shelf would be a nice thing and a step forward.
