Like you say, if they do rub its only on full lock anyway.

Don't I remember reading on here somewhere that Morgans have an MOT exemption from tyre rubbing as the factory just fits tyre rubbing brackets in leiu of steering bump stops .... so, ..... 'they all do that sir!'

Well it's just that I have found and fixed rubbing already on my 2018 year, 4/4. I noticed that on full righthand lock, at certain suspension positions, the box covering the steering UJ under the wing had lightly kissed the alloy box covering the steering joint. Worse, the wiring loom attached to the box had very slight witness marking too. Re-routed the loom back against the inner wing (instead of on the front of the box) so that is now okay and no damage done (Morgan had positioned it in a really stupid place). So, just a bit cautious about rubbing.

Well I think the problem may lie with wheel offset.

As I understand it (but I may of course be incorrect) the 4/4 and Plus 4 share core bodies that are identical and just become the appropriate version when the engine, wings and right sized wheels are fitted.

With the Plus 4 wheel offset, rubbing doesn't occur but does with the 4/4 wheels. If Morgan had properly engineered their cars they would have different lock stop on the racks when fitted to different variants. Rover, for example, did just that when they put the larger Sportpack wheels on the late model Classic Minis. Lotus did the same with the Elan Sprint.

The 4/4 wheels have slightly more inset than the Plus 4. The dimensions are on the MWS website (and in my book)!!!
