The annual report ;-)

Exactly three years ago I (or better we - my wife and me) collect our Morgan from BHM. Now time for look back for the last year.

In cause of a German „season registration“ the active live starts at March1th. This year March was cold and frozen and a lot of salt.
So she must stay in the garage.

But the time before was busy: she gets a set of two eared spinners and her ECU a flash.

Than the active time runs on in April: a lot of days, some longer journeys and allways looking: what is going on in Britain?
The sad thing: the first time we don‘t travel Britain in the last years and she must be serviced by a German dealer. I was out for two days
with her traveling the touristic way down the B3 and the river Neckar. Than leave her at the dealer and travel around with my another British stuff: my Brompton. After the service the (very) fast way home most on the Autobahn. Two hours.

But the most time out with my wife and enjoy the journeys and the landscape and also a glass of wine and nice meal. And clear some two or three daytrips. In summary this year about 6500KM. (About 4500miles). In cause of the very changing weather a trip in the alps was only a dream.

So far the usual use. For some cosmetic she gets a homemade mesh and after a long time the tooltray was finished.

But also some clouds come up: happy with the flash she need every time about 8Liter/100KM (about 32mpg) suddenly it changes up to 9 and 10Liters (down to about 28mpg). A point where I must have an eye on it or her. But than a week ago the season was stopped a bit out of the timetable. A clutchproblem. Nothing too big, and we hope/ wait for a good message. As a birthdaypresent?

So there is time up to end of the month for some miles day if I can cure the clutch. But there are also some small dings to do:
Also the brakereactionsbars are on the shelf. Since three years. Time to fix it.

Looking forward for the next year and hope about a Holiday in Britain.

Great René, lovely to hear of your experiences.

We have had our Morgan for 2 1/4 years and covered just 6000 miles and also tinkered with the car to solve the various issues that travel with a Morgan. I was at BHM today for their service day with Keith giving us excellent advice and insights into Morgan ownership, the best days fun and learning this year. I fitted my brake reaction bars last week and can recommend them and given your close attention to your Morgan (don't delay) I would be interested in what are your impressions once you have tried them out.

Hello Kevin,

oh, you visit the workshop! I visit the workshop in February 2019 and it was a great step forward in the ownership.

And if the world turns round again I think about a second visit for the workshop.

Oh, and some more modifications in 2021: Peter Gilbert’s wipers (very good!) and raise up the seats about 13mm (1/2“).

Greets René

Great to see you using the Morgan Rene. 6500km is a good amount of use especially compared to myself.

I hope to get out more in 2022!

You got yours around the same time as me! Three years of very happy motoring (and hours and hours of tinkering!)

Thank you for your annual report, René. An experience I would like to share. I also had a very sudden increase in consumption two years ago. In my case it was the lambda sensor, that is the control sensor before the catalytic converter. In the OBD I could see that the voltage jump had become very sluggish, even before the engine light came on which did a few days later on. With a new lambda sensor, the consumption was again low and normal. Of course there can be other reasons, MAF sensor etc.

Hello Heinz,

in cause the clutchproblem there is no testdrive possible. But I hope to can repair it this days and can do some Kilometers/ Miles.
I allways read your great technical reports but I‘ m not on this level of DIY. But working on.

May be you get a PM.

Hello Jon,

just today I had a call about the problem. Land in sight. I looks like I can do some miles this month for a testdrive.
If possible also test the sensores. The clutchproblem would be solved by an originalpart. And yes, I hope the world turns more round in 2022.

I can‘t say how much I miss Britain.

René, the only thing I have is a little theoretical knowledge. For DIY helps me my son who is a mechatronics graduate and who started his automotive engineering studies two years ago. And then there is Flaving and André Koopmann, for example, for new frontwings after a deer had run in front of it. I think you are much more mechanically savvy than I am. PM always welcome.
