Just used Tayna Batteries for the second time. Their service in supplying batteries and dealign with issues around sizes etc has been absolutely superb! Even when I got in a muddle and ordered the wrong battery they quickly helped me out.

Best wishes

I've used Tayna in the past but they've recently introduced a £26 shipping fee for standard lead/acid batteries which I've found sadly makes them uncompetitive. I recently bought a replacement for my other car from Batteries & Solar Ltd in Plymouth and was very pleased with the service ... and their shipping is free.

One thing I found with Tayna (having used them for previous purchases as their prices are good) was that when I bought the new batteries for my solar/wind sysyem they only gave a short warranty (1 or 2 years, I forget which) as opposed to the 7 years the manufacturer gives (Rolls Batteries from Canada) .... ended up buying through a direct dealer as it was 750 quids worth of batteries ... worth checking for

Another company I've had good service from, with on occasions better prices than Tayna is the Battery Megastore .

I note they offer generic 075 type batteries (60 amp hour) to fit recent Classics from £55 including shipping. Although relatively new to the car battery market I can recommend on longevity and price the Korean Hankook brand.

I’ve used Battery Megastore to supply the Odyssey PC925 fitted to my 2003 4/4 (under-bonnet).
Very helpful and good service.

Irrespective of where you get your battery from, It's worth noting the difference a fresh one makes. By all accounts- receipts and anecdotal- my oddysey was but 3 years old, and I know it wasnt on a maintainer for most of its previous life, and out in the cold with me, so no surprise that it gave up the amps last month. I'm thrilled now to be able to come back to a car parked for a week in all weathers, and have a strong start up battery, well worth the £150 odd cost of replacement, and I may get some LED\solar use out of the old one yet.

Good point concerning regular battery replacement and that exotic ones can have life diminished just as easily as cheaper ones. You should need to pay no more than around £60 for popular branded one that should last for at least 5 years. Regular replacement allows greater reliability and is cheaper in the long run.

Note how as time passes, the difference between the price of a battery and a tankful of fuel has shrunk. So I'm erring towards replacing the battery in my Roadster Ser2. It is garaged, and I have been using a Ctek charger/maintainer since buying one in August (to follow the Owners Manual guidance to keep it on a charger if the car isn't used for more than a week). My understanding is that it is intended to be left on once the battery is fully charged. I was out in the car a week or so ago, and on coming home put it back on the Ctek in anticipation of the onset of winter. Within a few hours it was showing fully charged again. However yesterday, having had the first two amber lights on for about 10 hours (overnight), the red error light came on. So I've turned everything off until I can be sure this means the battery has had it (it is possibly 6 or more years old), or perhaps the charger is faulty. Any ideas ??
