I did 24,000 miles in 4 years in the 4/4 Sport with no problems with the radiator, I wouldn't worry unduly about it as most cars are fitted with these nowadays as you know Paul and a failure makes a story but there are very few on here I have noticed.

Sure my Mulfab keeps the Plus 8 a little cooler and looks pretty but it was fitted when I bought the car.

It doesn't help that the OE rads fitted are all the same, right from 1600 sigma through to 3.7 'stang engines...so it's not just the vibration that kills 'em, some are under far more temperature & pressure stress too banghead

On hot days (mainly standing traffic) my fan hardly cuts in with the SiFab radiator, when I had the factory rad it’used to cut in more frequent. The engine still runs at the normal temperature. Like you say they look pretty too

I changed mine this year. It was 8 years old but still fine.

Having watched folks trying to keep a Roadster on the road one Drive-It-Day, I changed mine as soon as the car was out of warranty. I didn’t want the original failing half way up an alp. The nice people at Allon-White said that 4-5 years is typical but that some cars go on for a lot longer without problems.

The reference above to the radiators being the same throughout the range is most likely significant.

For the cost involved in replacement, when compared to a ruined holiday, in your shoes I would bite the bullet and change it before the next major outing.

Just a look at the topfixing. When I‘m right there was an article in MOG or Miscellany about a broken top canister
at an alloy radiator caused by a wrong fixing angle at the topmount. When I see right there where different angles.

If you fix such a nice thing, fix it right.

But doesn‘t matter, I‘m also looking for such a nice thing at my shelf.
