What a fine old van, I bet it could tell some stories. The older I became the more I began to appreciate patination..  Thanks for posting the pics Gordon.

What a cracking old van ... agree it would make a great camping van ... and the lack of speed would enforce a lovely leisuely touring schedule!!
Vintage hearse would be a fine way to make that last trip (have had friends travel by Motorcycle sidecar hearse ... and apparently there's an Armoured Personnel Carrier hearse too for ex-squaddies who want to make their last trip to the accompaniament of clanking tracks!)
Always nice to turn up at a garage and find something interesting lurking amongst the mundane motors.

I was back in the garage today. The van had one owner from new in 1951 in or around Melrose in the Scottish borders.
However they think it was collected from somewhere in England so must have made a move at some point.
Not sure of the end use of the van but the garage have been told to get it into a running condition only.
