The (otherwise very nice) Roadster 100 that has just popped-up for sale has a rather grim-looking job of sealing the bulkhead. Mine's just as bad mind you, and also dates from 2009. Was the mastic guy having a bad day, or are they all like that ? Has anyone poked/peeled theirs off and done a neater job ?

My 3.7 Roadster isn't quite as bad on the bonnet side, although far from perfect. In the normally hidden footwell side though there is mastic everywhere. I console myself with the fact there are no leaks innocent

Ditto. This is what I think is the PAS controller under the passenger side bulkhead.
I guess you could trim the mastic but I have left it.

"Somewhere" in the garage I have a scraper/finisher for those jobs in the kitchen and bathroom that I keep meaning to get around to. (Available at DIY shops and of course online like this item). So I'll add the bulkhead to the list.

My 2009 Roadster is exactly the same.

Mines a black car but they still used white sealant.

Better than my S1 to have lots of sealant. The S1 leaked like a sieve. Belle seems to have a water tight bulkhead. Mind you I added black silicone sealer to the gaskets on the wiper blade bezels.

The grey mastic will squeeze out due to the movement between the frame and bulkhead panel. I tidy mine up occasionally but the squeezing out is continuing after sixteen years.

The deck / hull seal on my boat was exactly the same. If you have ever tried to do this sort of job you will understand why. Not only is the excess inevitable, so is the sealant on your clothes and hair and ................
