You could always build back in a demister http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/category/Heating__Air_con_and_Ventilation/Demist,b.html

Euroglass would not supply me direct either. Expensive closed shop on the heated screens ..!!!! Mine broke on the top n/s corner also no impact and had all the hallmarks of a stress crack.. So long as I paid for a new screen they would send the old one back for examination ...then reimburse if a manufacturing defect was found. Its not a manufacturing defect me thinks, but all the cars are hand made and are slightly different ,so some screens are under more stress than others when fitted. Even jacking up on one corner could twist the body and put the screen under stress. Heated screens do seem to be more fragile...

Are they actually allowed to do that ? There must be other people who can supply flat glass with a heating element inside ? If you look at their website Uroglas it does rather suggest that they will provide to a private customer "Whether you’re a creator of concepts, a classic restorer, a small volume vehicle producer or you just want a heated screen for your 911 we are here to help you."

This problems seems to have appeared over the last 18 months or so, so something has changed. Would it not be sensible to contact all of the Morgan user groups to try and get as many incidents as possible and present these the the MMC to try and get an explanation as to what the issue is? It patently is not the old style hood or using the windscreen as a support to get out of the car otherwise there would be a history of spontaneous window cracking stretching back 12 years.

Can someone measure the thickness of the screen with a michrometer please. I'm away on a training event for a couple of days but yes I'll get that done when I get back. p.s. It is the forward facing section of the laminate that has cracked as on the previous screen. The cockpit side on both remains intact, even on the first screen when it had worked it's way from top to bottom albeit in a rough diaganol.

I wonder if its down to the change from 10 stud to 9 stud header rails? As well as reducing the number of studs, the screen has more taper on it as well.

You could always build back in a demister http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/category/Heating__Air_con_and_Ventilation/Demist,b.html Yes that is what I suggested I would do on the other thread, one or two MOT knowlegeables stated "no need" as far as the MOT is concerned. I shall fabricate something anyway as it is not handy when in dire wet you are forced to put the roof and it dribbles over the top rail and collects on top the dash area. Udder wipes are very good for the cascade but on the +8 the vents helped dry out the rest. The Sport suffers in the same way ( not into bolting odds and sods of Neoprene everywhere as effective and innovative as it is)the minimalist look of the Sport compared to the +8 is what I want to preserve. What's a little bit of water in the cockpit anyway - my father who was a Spitfire pilot in 318 squadron used to take me for aerobatics in Tiger Moth's and Zlin's - by far and away the favourite was the Tiger complete with the rain in your face and up your everywhere, pure adrenalin pumping. He was CFI in three Flying Groups in Norfolk at the time and he was nuts in an aeroplane. Sadly he passed upwards at 64yrs to join the angels and old comrades and adversaries that he shared the space with a long time ago. Quite a digress there sorry - they don't build men like that anymore although we owe it to the fallen to go like -hit and burn burn burn that petrol. The kids can play with battery and Hydrogen - What am I saying there It is definately the £140 laminated localish Exeter fix - or as Ivan has suggested plant glazing / agricultural machinery suppliers. Training event for the next couple of days but hopefully do a bit of research after that.
