Hello, I've just joined the talk morgan forum, hope someone can shred some light ....... I soon need to change my exhaust, a twin pipe system. Is there any way to find mild steel replacements? Why invest in a stainless one, the existing one has been on the car since new, an amazing 47 years! But now it starts to deteriorate.
All comments are welcome.

Winter greetings from Paris

I think you may struggle with a mild steel system from the main suppliers - they all seem to be stainless these days.

If you must have mild steel, might be worth trying to find an exhaust specialist locally who could make up a bespoke system for you.

I don't know if they still trade, but Harpers used to keep some OE exhausts in stock

If you can get the car over here for say a holiday, these guys will custom make you a new Stainless one using the old system as a pattern. They are used to working on Morgan's and produce top class work at sensible prices.

I think it unlikely you will find a mild steel one these days.

It maybe is worth a private message to pandy on here who is a businessman in Paris and has some very good car contacts in France.
He used to run a 4/4 Sport but ran out of garages to put his cars in so it reluctantly went.

Thanks for your input Richard, I'll see what's the best way to go, maybe a spring trip to the UK.

In the recent past I replaced the two into one sections that sit under the front wings and which connect the manifolds to a short linking section which then connects to the silencers sitting under under the running board section of the front wings... It seems the original Morgan stainless short section was of smaller diameter than the stainless silencers fitted to my car. So perhaps best to measure pipe diameters if intending to mix and match..?

Good luck in your choices.
