My Plus Four has spotlights fitted (Borghi, Milan) but they don't come on when the main beam is activated. There is no power going to the lights (my headlamp main beam is fine) so I have traced the wiring back to the bulkhead where it disappears along with the other lighting cables under the dashboard.
I am either blind or daft (probably both) but I can't see any relays or extra fuses to run the spotlights. I can only find the standard set of fuses, all of which are ok but no relays!
Firstly, where would the relays be located and secondly, if there is no extra relay for the foglights and the main beam headlights are working, then what could be the cause of the spotlights not receiving power?

Look under the dash from the offside and the standard relays should be above the steering column. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2017/12/18/IMG_1545.jpg)

Directly behind the speedo and rev counter, you really need to drop the dash to get at them. Fro memory they are not labelled either.

Bit confusing...
Plus Four, is latest CX platform car
A 2005 Trad is a Plus 4
Anyway, don't forget to test with ignition ON as Borghi may have wired the relay to feed only if engine / ign running, to save battery load

Are they wired as front fog lights with a switch on the dash?

Are they wired as front fog lights with a switch on the dash? If they are then likely no relay. The loom of that period should have had normally redundant blue/yellow wires for front fogs and dash loom provision for matching switch with power taken from fused offside sidelight feed, red/orange cable.

Are they wired as front fog lights with a switch on the dash? No they're not. Okay well this has surprised me....... I had a look behind the speedo etc and found the relays and as stated, they weren't labelled. Thanks for the info. But I also found a toggle switch on a bracket which had at some stage been bent up behind the dash (I have one of the bespoke Borghi dashboards) which as John V6 correctly ascertained operated the front lamps which are foglights not spotlights. Before anyone says look at the glass, I have one with foglight glass and the other with spotlight glass just to confuse things.

That's strange as can be seen below the Plus 4 had matching badge. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/PEB2ynH.jpeg) Maybe someone retro fitted the CX Plus Four ones? Regarding your issue it may be the jurys out if Borghi added a bespoke installation. You may have to revert to first principles and trace power feeds. If there is a relay(s) involved it's likely a standalone one. If I understand correctly you have one fog and one spot lamp. As you suggest the latter should only be allowed to come on with main beam, whereas fog lamps be they front or rear should just require the headlamp function to be selected.
