I have been following the KP case on Pistonheads. A lawyer has just explained the reasons why she got the sentence she did.

There are some interesting comments about her ability to meet the conditions at pre sentencing that resulted in the suspended sentence. Basically she had the means ( money and celebrity status) to book in immediately to the Priory. NOT cheap. Many comments are about the average person not being able to do this, especially via the normal GP/ NHS/ Addiction help bodies that are limited and slow moving.
The worrying aspect some are focussing on is celebrity status and money have bought her the ability to get a reduced sentence.
The general opinion is that she will soon be up and running again on celeb style adventures and more incidents will occur. The odd thing is that the legal system is at magistrates court level unless an offence/ plea sends it to a higher court. Her lawyers clearly know how to work the system. Plead guilty and it can stay at magistrate level where sentencing is limited.
Her record is absolutely appalling re driving, drink, drugs, frequency, ignoring the law. The rest of us would be in a “hotel” with similar history, unless we had her lawyers/ means, celebrity.

Any body else with that record would have got a custodial long ago.
