Zip pull tab is always on the left on UK jackets. Womens and Mens. I think shirt buttons and trouser buttons are opposite for some reason. Cant quite remember as its a while since I put a blouse on  Or taken one off.

Having worked in the rag trade both in the UK and USA this obsession with positioning zippers on the right for men’s jackets is an entirely American phenomenon. If you find yourself with a zipper on the left side on a men’s jacket, that shouldn’t alarm you. It’s common enough in jackets that are made for markets outside the US to have sliders on either the left or the right. As American companies became international and shipped product made for the US market the waters became more muddied.
The only specificity in the designer clothing world for sliders is in the military. The choice of the left or the right zipper is a matter of choice for the people placing the order. However, even here, there is a standard choice. Most military orders have the slider placed on the left side of the jacket.

Out of the six jackets in the hall cupboard by the front door his and hers all are LHD  I'm not going upstairs and looking at the rest of hers I'd be up there all night... I only have three I've never worked out how to wear more than one at a time  It goes scruffy Morgan coat, less scruffy Morgan coat and Weddings and Funerals coat..

Aside to the zipper/button conundrum, I have always worn a wrist watch on my left and women wear a wrist watch on their right, but I have noticed more recently a change in gender wearing styles which in my opinion does not look right to me. Am I just too old fashioned?
