I have a feeling this is a duplicate post, but I'm still learning. Removed the right headlamp today and found this wiring. All looks OK except for the red wire connected to nothing. It looks to have been cut, but no evidence of it ever being connected. Thoughts? Thanks Tom [img] https://zippyimage.com/image/plug2.k0put[/img]

Below your photo you have the option of "About" and "Embed Codes" Select Embed Codes, scroll down to Full Image, highlighting the BBCode line and the word COPY should appear to the right. Click on it and paste into your post: ![[Linked Image]](https://zippyimage.com/images/2022/01/05/89ecf7467958d7c67422f8df01361bf3.jpg) It's all in the Instructions for Use page on the TM-IMG site

I think it‘s the colourcode like the old MINIs.
Blue/red and blue/white are driving light and highbeam, blackmails ground.
The red is parkinglight. And than there must be a bulbholder for the parkinglight. In some countries it isn‘t allowed to have four parkinglights. So if you got the lights at the wing they must cut the red wires in mainlamp.
It‘s easy to test, have a try.

Yes that wiring is normal with correct generic colour coding.
Blue/white - main beam Blue/red - dip beam Red (with no connector) - side/parking lamp Black - common ground
The red cable would usually be terminated in a suitable connector to a sidelight bulb which typically pushes into rubber lined mount hole from the rear of headlamp reflector. Its possible your headlamp has been replaced with a plain headlamp reflector having no provision for sidelamp, relying on wing top sidelamps or dispensing with them completely and just having headlamps only!
If in future you decide to leave the lighting in its present state, I would insulate the end of red wire as it will be live with lights on!

New headlight bowls with the parking light shouldn't be that expensive. If you were in he UK you could have some of the spares I have in the garage. While there I would fit LED headlight bulbs if legal.

As you are in Illinois I would ask Keith at Northshore Sportscars he has quite a few spare parts and may have the headlight bowls.
