I recently found that Central Bedfordshire offer an email alert service for road gritting, which is very handy if you try to use your car year round.
The place to sign up is
on the Central Bedfordshire web site.I presume other councils offer a similar services, worth checking locally.
I have it set up as a VIP in mail emailer, so I get notified of alerts which could otherwise get lost in the piles of adverts.
