Does anyone have a centre console / trinket tray fitted in their Roadster ? I'm fed up with losing my phone/wallet etc behind the seat. But I'm not keen on the prices from a couple of the usual sources. I fancy applying my modest cabinet-making skills and making one for my car -- I could probably figure-out the dimensions by practical measurement, but any dimensions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I bought my centre console / trinket used at dealers open day quite cheap, I was lucky it was a snug fit around the transmission tunnel (try before buy) I then sent it off to be colour matched. I couldn’t be without it now, so useful for keeping spare change in.

Peter,
I bought one of these for instant use in 4/4.

Black Car Seat Gap Storage Box Organizer Phone Card Cup Holder Slit Pocket U https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/403328772814

Fits straight in & looks ok, less than £7....

Thanks both.
Great colour-match Craig. And impressively modest outlay Jack, it would cost me WAY more than that just for the plywood !

Hi Peter,

not from a Roadster, but here a pic from the box in my Plus 8. Looks a little different than the others and is the Kauffelt standard version.
It is ok for the keys and an empty wallet - perfect if you spend the money for the box wink

It was already installed when i bought the car - lucky smile

Looks good Andreas. Combines the hinged front section with an open rear coin tray. My original plan was some 6mm ply and a veneer to match the dash, then carefully applied/rubbed multiple coats of polyurethane varnish.

Peter, made this for my current Roadster a couple of years ago

If I did one again, I wouldn't bother with the step-out, makes it more complex just to gain 1/2"

Nice job ! (it reminds me a lot of something off a model train layout). Next step is to get the car out of the garage again so I can gain access to the space between the seats, to measure everything properly in the transmission tunnel area.

Inspired by everyones tinkering, I've made this - it a basic plywood base on a couple of ally mounts, but it has two magnets in it so it will hold my mobile still when I'm driving smile

How did you get the correct measurement of the curve of the transmission tunnel?
