To this day one of my pals who is a carpenter calls screws ‘rotary nails’ and says screwdrivers were invented to dig them out with 🤣.
BR Colin I'm glad someone else does this. I often start a screwnail with a couple of taps of a hammer to make sure it is going in the right place. Also, you can never have too many clamps!

It's an American screwdriver up in this corner, like Colin's mate, my journeyman told me the slot is only there for removal !!
