That’s great, sounds normal then I will certainly drive and enjoy, when it warms up a bit at least A Keis heated jacket works wonders...... Whereabouts are you based and what age, spec, mileage has your M3W got? Also have you joined the Morgan Three Wheeler Club Touring Group Facebook page yet? If not it's a graet forum for advice and getting together with others. https://www.facebook.com/groups/332290564694186/

I noticed the same problem when I bought a used 2013 3W from Bill Fink.
One cylinder was popping (like it should) the other was huffing... like it was just pumping air.
I tried everything mentioned in this thread. I even bought a leak-down kit to test compression, because, as you know, you can't do a typical compression test.
Long diagnostic story short, the timing belt had obviously skipped a tooth. When I re-installed the belt, it felt like I gained 30 HP. with uniform popping from each cylinder.
I called Bill Fink; did he ever do any engine work on the car? he said No.
I talked to the previous owner, I asked if he had done any work and removed the timing cover? he said No.
I called S&S and asked if it was possible for an engine to leave the factory with bad timing? he said NO! they test run every engine before they ship it.
So, any ideas what happened? From now on, with any unnatural exhaust sounds, I suspect timing.

If the car hasn't had a Bleazey conversation start saving up to do that as the compensator will fail at some point and you never know when.

Unless of course it had the Crank sprocket and bolt upgrade (which I hope it has had) which would have meant the belt was removed by a dealer to carry out this work?

I concur, I bought the vest when I used to commute to work by bike. Fabulous bit of kit. Can either plug into the 12V harness, or use a seperate rechargeable battery pack. It now comes into occasional use on winter days when on playground duty before school

Hi, yes it did have the bolt upgrade done when I bought it, I presume I can just remove the cover and it will be obvious if the timing marks line up or not?

Yes, there is an alignment mark on the crank sprocket and engine and the 3 cams have 3/16 inch alignment holes in them, with corresponding holes on the engine.

I had the exact same problem after a dealer fitted the cam belt upgrade. They had not fitted the pulley woodruff key correctly.
