Mine is slower to start when it has not been driven for more than about a week. My best guess would be the cause is the oil from the cold-sumping getting ingested into the cylinders on first turn-over. It always starts after 20 seconds or so, runs fine, and then re-starts quickly.
Changing to a battery with higher CCA than the factory Banner makes the starter motor turn over (and the engine start) noticeably faster. I concur, a Yuasa battery after 7 years much improved starting.

I assume it is a Yuasa UR1 that you have Tim? The specification doesn't look great compared to many alternatives but I know several M3W owners that have them and have had no problems with a long life from them. The other big advantage is that they are usually available from your local Halfords, in the UK, if you need a new battery quickly.

My AntiGravity battery has 900 CCA and does an admirable job at spinning the engine on startup. Antigravity ATX20-HD Lithium Battery

Antigravity seem to be the very best Lithium batteries for motorbikes. Unfortunately it's not easy to get one here in Europe. I have to think wise about my battery too.... I didn't start my M3W for a month and now the original Banner is at less than 9V... Being just two years old. Despite the car is still under warranty, instead of asking the Morgan dealer to replace it fo a new one (I bet it will be a Banner again), I'm thinking about investing in a nice Lithium one. I've hear very good comments about the Magneti Marelli ION-15. Expensive, but apparently extremely reliable.

Agree. That is the one I fitted. I recommend this one to US owners. It fits right in where the factory battery was, although it is smaller, I simply added a wooden spacer so that the factory clamp holds it. It is much lighter too.
