Of course the more discerning Morganeer with wire wheels will be running polished Aluminium brake drums..? https://www.brakedrum.co.ukIf I I remember correctly, in times past the GoMoG webmaster used much modified and highly polished Datsun 240Z (?) finned alloy rear brake drums on his +8 gleam machine..

Like Dave I use a standard spray aerosol after rust treating.

Thank you all - I think I shall go down the Smoothrite route as I`ve used it before on other things and also have some in dark green already.

Look great, but when I last enquired when they had a stand at the NEC, something around £500 the pair...I had to shuffle off for a strong cup of Yorkshire tea and a sit down

I wonder why someone doesn't make some thin spun aluminium or stainless covers for brake drums? .... would be cheap as chips (or at least as cheap as a pound-shop saucepan 🙂) to make.

It's been done, but not sure if it was Morgan. May have been for MGB.

Seems a shiny solution to an irritation for wire wheel users ... would cost pennies each to spin .... and such is the love of shiny things in the Morgan world that if you lasered a set of wings on it there'd be a queue at 50 quid a pop !! 🤣

I could've knocked you a them up........ a number of years ago..... ![[Linked Image]](https://iansharples.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/spinner-768x617.jpg) Used to spin wheel trims for a couple of Messerschmitt's owned by 2 guys in the maintenance dept (along with many other "foreigners" (bell mouths for Honda 400/4's was a regular))

I don't think the rears generate much heat. Unless you are racing!
