To be fair Doug, you never did get any ‘extras’ with the old M3W, in standard form it was indeed basic. Graphics, luggage rack, heated seats etc we’re all optional extras.
I think you’re correct in your assessment that MMC will be making a reasonable profit out of the options coffee spend

Build quality and after-sales service will be the issue here

Having ordered ours/paid a small deposit in Dec 2010 (at that stage expecting a Harley engine!) and 17 months later, taken delivery of one of the first customer ones after the run of dealer demonstrators, we will let others play at being alpha/beta testers on this one......

No regrets at all despite all the fixes/upgrades required and we are still enjoying the car. If as suspected, realistically kitted ones are north of £50k then this is a lot for a toy and that will limit numbers to the more seriously well heeled and result in a lot of v low mileage examples only used on high days and holidays..

Wish MMC luck with it

I ordered one in early 2012, I cancelled the order after hearing too many horror stories from owners of the first models. I waited and purchased a 2016 and wound up with a very noisy bevel box which had to be resolved. Still have the car and enjoy it, but not sure if I would want to be a beta tester on the new one.

I can understand your concern Lance

Autocar - more details on the new M3W

Looks like there are going to be storage options that bolt onto the side of the car! Some interesting details that I don't recall reading about.

Based on the teaser photo Morgan just sent out and after zooming in on the silhouettes of the new M3W it appears the pic above is what the final version is going to look like. I don’t want to be critical about the new design without seeing the final version since I’m sure the designers have worked very hard on this but I sure hope there is a nice grill that covers up the front open area.

That is one of the photographs that were released and then hurriedly withdrawn last September. I caught three of them from the online Autocar article and posted them here: New 2022 M3W breaks cover

You can see the thumbnails of a few more in the internet archive copy of the article: web.archive.com

Based on images posted by Ian I bet these are the applicable drawings from the collage made public by Morgan.

Looking at the photos and the shaping of the cowl and the items up front, I wouldn't be surprised if Morgan didn't add a grill that looks like the current Plus Four. You can see where a curved shapely grill would extend from the cowl and curve over the equipment and covers down below.

Just some speculation.
