Suppose its just an old biker asking the question.

do you drive your Moggie or ride it ?

Being a biker i would suggest the latter.

Feels more like driving to me.

- You sit "in" it rather than "on" it.
- You use a steering wheel rather than bars.
- Your feet do normal things rather than shifting gears :-)

That said, I always "take it for a ride" rather than "take it for a drive"

Driving, definitely. But like steering a horse-pulled wagon.

As an ex biker I'd say that the M3W is very much a ride even though the controls are car like, but the Plus 8 is a drive.
Some of the old 4/4s are certainly a ride as they can be as difficult to keep going as a 1960s bike...

Ride: you put your legs 'over' it
Drive: you sit IN it

therefor you can descride different mating positions as Riding and/or Driving hide

Interesting question Reevie.

I think this question reaches beyond the literal.

The M3W is a “wild beast”, perhaps it is a ride.

And Landy I agree as well, the M3W is a radial engine open cockpit biplane on the road.

You ride something with bars, you drive something with a steering wheel.....

Horses have bars...? smile If the weight distribution or general body positioning of person in control plays a degree of importance in aspect of progress, then riding may be a more apt description...? Of course the degree of exposure to the elements perhaps plays a part in such assessments too..?

Just thinking in type.

No but they do go into them......A horse walks into a bar and the bartender say "Hey", the horse replies "Sure"... etc.
