I had same issue and repaired with some metal repair putty and it seems to be holding. Putty was grey and nicely malleable so can be put under and around the arm and just a touch up of the black paint required to finish.
Always handy to have around the house as a temp plumbing repair in emergencies too.

If you can get hold of some Belzona Molecular I'm sure that will work, sort of a JB weld but far better and horrendously expensive! Sounds impressive stuff, thanks for the tip off Taffmog

I recall Belzona molecular metal being used to repair the tanks on oil filled power transformers when I was a young engineer in the power supply industry back in the ‘70s. The fact that it could withstand both oil and constant vibration from a.c. current, was impressive. So I used it to seal a leak in the seam of my Matchless G12 petrol tank which had rusted and split open; and it never leaked again.

We had a batch of porous Austin Maxi cases, BL’s wonder fix (believe it or not) was to planish the area with a ball pein hammer!…. When common sense prevailed the ‘fix’ was to strip the unit, mega clean the inside of the gearbox case and rough grind the surface, not easy as no Dremel back then, then a skim of Belzona and leave for 48 hours before rebuilding.
A nice little earner when your working on a bonus scheme as it was a reasonably generous ‘book time’ job and we soon learnt the dodges. I certainly learnt how to pull those boxes up and down as I must have done a couple of dozen.

A recent car restoration show showed a form of 'metal deposition' onto a worn bearing housing in a NLA casting, which was then milled back to original size, very impressive

Thanks for all the suggestions. I’m going to try and clean it up and solder. I’m thinking I’ll get best results with 60/40 solder and just enough heat to get it to flow. And good flux - got some special flux for chrome/brass on the way. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
That Belzona stuff is good to know about. For where no other kind of repair will work.
