Hi Folks,

Just a quick pointer here to a repeat of the excellent BHM Goodwood Track Day that we enjoyed last year, that is booked for 17th May this time - full sunshine on the cards too of course smile . We need a quorum of M3W's to make ourselves a dedicated group so that we can repeat the fun we had last time. I think we need 5 or 6 cars to make it work for us - fingers crossed!

Is that an extra muffler attached to the exhaust of the lead car?

Haven't driven Goodwood for many years and it would be a whole new expereince in a M3W! What are the requirements for the car safety/noise wise and expected cost please?

It's a Decibel Reducer to keep the exhaust noise below the track limit.

Thank you.

Does it reduce performance? Increase engine heat?

Hi,
Just left a message for Sarah at BHM so I’ll be going again. Can you remind me again where you got your muffs from? Last year my DB level was 98 one side but 100 the other and don’t want to take a chance again, great day BTW

Slip-on sliencers do not reduce performance by anything too noticable on the day, but did drop the dB's significantly - measured 94dB as opposed to others who were close or even over the 98dB limit that morning. Full thread from last year here;

Silencers designed for a TVR Cerbera and I simply drilled a small securing hole for a self-tapper on the underside to hold them securely, in addition to the clamp supplied, Keeps the scrutes happy smile

Got them from here: Track Day Slip-on Silencers

Tim at ACT Performance Products sorted me a set of the track day silencers. First set were a smidgeon tight and so he took them back and sent another set slightly stretched that fit perfectly. Hopefully removes any noise related risks on the day!

Disappointed I will not be taking part on the 17th May due to date clash. Must organise my diary better for 2023!

Enjoy the BHM attach day.
