I think I may have triggered a few this week, but unfortunately Waitrose was all out of sugar-coated popcorn smile smile

I accept that years of being abused by small children may have 'hardened' me a little. Believe me, if someone threatened to shoot my mum, I would offer swift and effective re-education, but I fail to see the point of getting my knickers in a bunch over a few words and/or difference in opinion.

I have a Bex - she causes me more stress than anything else in my life.(she doesn't read this forum so I'm safe to say it).

Like most of the TV these days self-opinionated dross masquerading as educational light entertainment. Stopped watching anything with him in it ages ago. As mentioned the classic program he had showed him as a pompous twonk. I don't mind getting the odd "is it a kit car" as most people have never seen an Aero in real life but they are just inquisitive.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I cannot abide the man. Some of his suggestions and comments of altering the looks on classic cars are beyond belief.

As to looks: I had never heard of him before a Google search. But as a slightly merry Churchill was reputed to have said to a fellow guest at a party, "Madam, I may be inebriated, but in the morning I shall be sober. You will still be ugly".

Sometimes too much attention is wasted on meaninglessness.

Even this statement is more than he deserves

Like many on TV car programmes, he believes he is a car nut, whereas the truth is, he's just an opinionated nut awash with prejudice. I suppose we all are to some extent.

But he's out to make Car related television, and controversy gets him publicity. I would have more respect for him if he demonstrated a whisker of hands on ability. Like the amazing restoring team he uses on the antique side.

The likes of Sam Lovegrove on Shed & Buried, who is a real bike nut, show how it should be done. There are too many opinionated car show presenters, and although it's a tough role, a few manage to pull it off, even though the majority are unwatchable.

Just look at some on You Tube to see how bad it can get.

This is on YouTube. Not bad, but it helps if you understand French.
https://youtu.be/GT5mgflV4Hk "Franchement" it's a bit too gushing for my liking, but includes some useful "chassis-underside" sequences. What really bugs me though is how the chap uses his fingernail to scrape-off small specks of tar / dead flies etc.
