Richard,

So Harpers did the DHC as well as the normal 2 seater to 4 seater conversion that I have? I had a think about this Dutch car but decided I wanted the trad 4 seater.

Cheers

Philip,

That is my understanding of Bob Harpers input.
Roger whom I bought my present Plus 8 from would probably have chapter and verse and you can get him on the Harpers number although he is far from an instant responder but a lovely friendly chap.
If you have difficulty contacting him I'll PM you his mobile.

This lovely project seems to be what he has been getting up to.

The temperature sensor (not the Temp gauge sensor) if it has a faulty reading can cause the EFi to give fuel issues. I am not familiar with the flapper system but I think the temperature sensor should be located on top of the manifold near the plenum.

Richard there is a green one with the boot conversion that appears at local shows etc in E Anglia. They do look good.

You've reminded me of when, many years ago, I went to Roger at Harper's to view a plus 8. My wife came with me. I started the car and I clearly heard Roger laugh and say to my wife (as I was pulling away up the drive there) "Look at his face, that's sold!"

He was right too! Very nice chap Roger. A few years later he bought it back from me and it went off to Germany.

They are properly finished is what I like about them compared to some conversions that look ill at ease to my eyes.

Philip, when my ignition amplifier failed it would still start ok, what happened was when I accelerated hard it would cut out and to restart I turned the ignition off and then back on and the engine fired up instantly. It was interesting if it did it mid bend !!!!

Some of the replacement amplifiers are a bit iffy.

One of the reasons I opted for a coil pack system.

David Byrne.
