Thanks - as the reservoir on the CX models is made of aluminium it's quite difficult to gauge accurately how much fluid is inside, as you can only see downwards through the opening. Perhaps I need to use a ruler as a dipstick Thats exactly what I do on the Fezza.

I have been to morgan Belgium to take a picture of the radiator leaking again. The cap of the expansion vase has been changed with a cap opening with less pressure. 9 cars are waiting for a radiator change under waranty.

As I understand it- they are on Revision 9 or 10 of the radiator and its mountings....

Would have thought that with the compliant suspension of CX series mechanical strain on rad would be a lot less. Reading between the lines, its a shame MMC didn't take the bold step of over engineering the fix in the first place instead of pussyfooting. Would have saved them so much money and loss of face.

Must say that, having now had the opportunity of an overnight road test of the CX Plus Four, the sheer complexity under the bonnet - of the whole plot in fact - scares me to death! Having switched on the ignition in my quiet garage to suss out the "info" screen functions, I was astounded - after the key was removed - by the clicking and whirring of unknown servos and switches that went on for several minutes. I was able to get out of the driving seat, walk around and open the N/S bonnet - and it still continued! The maze of pipes, cables, connectors, sensors etc under there goes way beyond the old "plumber's nightmare" moniker (originally applied to the Vincent Series "A" if I recall). I wouldn't want to be a CX owner without a warranty. Other bizarre noises continued on the road - notably a slightly disconcerting "whoosh" from the O/S rear wheelarch area (which I take to be the turbo wastegate discharging) - and some curious high-pitched whistling which was amplified when passing under overhead road bridges. Some unresolved "aerodynamics" to sort out there I think! My driving impressions were mixed: suspension and body integrity seemed excellent, but I found the steering disconcertingly numb around the straight ahead, with almost no self-centering. In fact the car would carry on steering a gentle curve if I took my hands off the wheel, without correcting itself without intervention from me. I didn't care for that! Most of all, I felt that the "seat-of-the-pants" driving experience I get from my Morgan was gone. It felt like an anaesthetised "modern" in Morgan clothes - competent in the main - and very quick - but lacking in involvement. Getting back into the Roadster was like slipping back into a favourite old pair of shoes. I know which I prefer.

Very similar feeling Nick having driven both CX models in one morning. The snug familiarity of my Roadster was welcomed.

Someone I know has his Plus Four at a dealership again, for a faulty radiator. I think that he is regretting getting rid of his 3.0 Roadster, Yet again, and sadly, it seems that MMC are using their customers to do the final product development! Bud 4/4 - Stanley

I have talked with my dealer, and they have an idea that the cap of the expansion vase is opening Only when the pressure is too high , and then damage the radiator. They think that the cars are tested on a racetrack , with an agressive drive, The coolant and the pressure in the radiator increase and the cap open at that pressure. As we dont drive so fast the cap stay closed but the pressure Damage the radiator. Now they have placed a cap with lower pressure values.
Not easy to explain in english ,sorry

Well, they had to come up with some sort of explanation, but I don’t think it helps to try to defy the laws of physics!
